Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

FormMind does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to FormMind servers. There are no FormMind servers. The extension operates entirely on your device.

The only external service FormMind communicates with is the Anthropic API, and only when you click "Fill All Fields". This communication is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

2. Data stored locally on your device

FormMind stores the following data in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local), which remains on your device only:

• Your profile information (name, email, phone, location, job title, LinkedIn URL, professional summary)
• Your Anthropic API key
• Uploaded files (resume, portfolio, certificates) stored as base64-encoded data
• Extension settings (highlight fields, auto-scan, show confidence)
• Form fill preferences and saved answers

This data is stored locally and is never transmitted to any server operated by FormMind.

3. Anthropic API usage

When you click "Fill All Fields", FormMind sends the following data to the Anthropic API using your personal API key:

• The list of form field labels detected on the current page
• Your profile information (to match fields and generate answers)
• The URL and title of the current page (for context)

This data is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate field values. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy and Usage Policy. Because you use your own API key, your data is associated with your Anthropic account, not FormMind.

4. Permissions we request and why

• activeTab — to read and interact with the form on the current tab you're viewing
• storage — to save your profile and files locally on your device
• scripting — to inject the field detection and filling logic into the page
• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — to work on any website that has a form, including job boards, government portals, and SaaS signups

We request only the minimum permissions required for the extension to function.

5. Files you upload

Files you upload to FormMind's file vault (resumes, certificates, ID documents, etc.) are stored entirely within your browser's local storage. They are never uploaded to any external server by FormMind. When you auto-attach a file to a form, it is transferred directly from your browser's memory to the webpage's file input — it does not pass through any FormMind or third-party server.

6. No analytics, no tracking

FormMind does not include any analytics, crash reporting, usage tracking, or third-party scripts. We do not know how many users we have, which features they use, or which websites they visit.

7. No advertising

FormMind does not serve ads and does not share your data with advertising networks.

8. Data deletion

To delete all your data, uninstall the FormMind extension from Chrome. This permanently removes all locally stored data including your profile, files, API key, and settings. Alternatively, you can clear your data from within the extension's Settings page.

9. Children's privacy

FormMind is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify users via the Chrome Web Store listing update notes.
